  • Apparently Clapton only ever had 1 #1 hit

And it was "I Shot the Sherriff." So says my local radio DJ.

Either my local radio DJ is way off, or my head is about to commence exploding. Which is it?

I assume they mean as solo act.

I wonder if he had any #1s with the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith or Bonney & Delaney?
A number of words mean "fool" in various keys. A brinjah is a comical person; to brinja is to play the fool. Fool can be an adjective meaning foolish: "Cho, man! You too fool!" - or as the abstract noun, foolishness: "De whol a de nex week Wasp wid him fool fly up an dung."—Frederic G. Cassidy

wouldn't be that weird. think about all the great songs CCR had, and they never had one.

"Tears in Heaven" only ever got to #2, according to the aforementioned DJ.

Wikipedia confirms this, at least as far as the US charts go, it's surprising how many of his biggest hits were written by other people.

Is it just for Clapton as a solo artist, or does that include his assorted bands?

(I know I could just look for myself, but I'm lazy)

It only gives chart positions for his solo stuff.

Interesting. However I've gotta think it's so solo acts.

Sunshine of Your Love, White Room and Layla all made it pretty high on the charts. Didn't they?
