            A really great songwriter. My favorite Townes story is when he tried to do an intervention on junkie Steve Earle while drunk off his ass.

                My favorite songwriter by a long-shot. As great and prolific a songwriter he was, he was a damn good guitar player too. Thanks for the videos!

                        I saw him with Guy Clark in Minneapolis at the Guthrie in 1990. They sat on barstools and traded off songs for almost three hours. Amazing show.

                            You lucky dog. I never got to see Townes while he was still alive, but I did see Guy Clark in Austin in 2003.
