I'm not a fan, and went with the first thing I thought of, so I'm sure someone could steer you to better. But the guy has a really nice tone, some sophistication, etc.

Forum bias. If this were maps KH would be ahead, HCEG...too close to call. But yeah it's biased being there are more PHish fans here than metal. I voted Kirk.

Who are all these Phish fans you're thinking of on GJ?

Thanks Prof, yeah, nice tone, spot-on phrasing and groove. The guy can play.

In this particular instance, our poll comes closer to reflecting absolute truth than most helicopter traffic updates.

if you take away kirk's wah and the penatonic minor scale the sound level from his side of the stage would be pretty empty.

It's ok, Rick Santorum apparently hates FN too.

An interview with Anastasio back in the mid-90s was the first time I'd seen seen George Van Eps's 3-volume Harmonic Mechanisms for Guitar mentioned. I can't think of another rock guitarist who'd cite it; you have to be able to read music. That alone speaks volumes.

Not really. I maintain that modern technology has made tabs a superior form of written music when pertaining to stringed instruments. It is also easy to understand, and I'd feel safe in claiming that more guitarists know how to read music today than in the past, just not that format of written music.
