Too many to choose from, but I'd nominate the main lead in Comfortably Numb.
Electric: Gibson LP Classic, Fender American Deluxe Strat, Vintage AV6P

      Acoustic: Yamaha APX500

i would have to say that the single solo that changed how guitar is played more than any other would have to be Eruption. that few minutes rewrote the book.

          I woulda wrote a better song "

There are sooooo many. I'll just throw out Frampton's "Do You Feel like we Do". Not the greatest, but there was a time when that guitar solo was blaring out the windows of everyone's Camaro.

Being able to hum or whistle every note of the "Hotel California" solo is kind of like the Wayne's World/"Bohemian Rhapsody" thing. Everyone's probably done it at one time or another.

I'm not saying it's the greatest solo by any stretch, but if you asked anyone walking down the street to sing the solo I'd bet there's a better than even chance they could do it.

Hendrix from The Concerts LP Stone Free/ Are You Experienced and Blackmore on Live Europe Stargazer. Some sick slide playing.
Lead me to your door. (yeah yeah yeah yeah)

I don't think I could sing the Hotel California solo. Maybe sing along if it were playing. I could definitely sing the "Something" solo from start to finish, and likely still could a decade into dementia. "Sympathy for the Devil" is probably my favorite, but it's polarizing.

There's a good chance my friends and I were just idiots.
