Poverty no doubt changes your expectations, but still; if you have the ingredients to make a Sloppy Joe, then you have the ingredients to make a burger.

I can't relate to your history, but I was left to prepare my own meals from about 7 on; I ate my share of really bad ones as a consequence.

Another culinary horror involving burger -- IMPOSSIBLE CHEESEBURGER PIE. My mother isn't much of a cook, but you were in trouble when she "got creative" and reached for the red Betty Crocker paperback.

Ground beef, eggs, cheese, Bisquick -- all mocked as they're sent to food hell.

Ah, the suburbs. Life was harsh. No Grey Poupon.

Kraft may have been able to buy a Rolls-Royce, but they've never been able to buy real elitist credibility.

Life wasn't that harsh, but we didn't really have a lot of money all the time. And, because the suburbs are designed to be removed from the city, yr kinda stuck in them. And its not like their aren't rough parts of the suburbs.

It must have been almost unbearable.

You win at poverty and hardship, Jimmy. No need to showboat.

Do you have any idea how hard it is for a family of seven to make ends meet with only one rubber ass? Talk about stretching the budget.
