      I don't refer to actors of either sex. They are contemptible individuals.

        My oral rhetoric teacher in high school explained that at some surprisingly-recent point in history, a lot of studios had "default contracts" or some such thing, wherein "actors" were paid more than "actresses", so female players referred to themselves as "actors" to override the outdated policy.
