  • Red Dawn 2012

I am so going to see this movie. If it is "good", I will be entertained by nostalgia/jingoism and frequent pillowy gasoline explosions. If it is "bad" I will decry the producer's pathetic inability to portray the U.S. as a peace-loving, victimized, nation of freedom-lovers.

When we get invaded by Cuba the anti-gun nerds will be begging for NRA helperism.

I, for one, welcome our new proto-beardcore Caribbean overlords.

Since it's 2012, I just assumed it would be the Homosexual Agenda.

It was China, but whatever company own the company that owns the company that's releasing the film asked them to change it, after filming, to North Korea. So apparently they just went back and changed to logos on the tanks in post and called them North Koreans.

The first one was bad enough. I can't imagine spending money, let alone time, to watch a creatively bankrupt rehash.

If they recreate the gas station scene where the kids are scooping up Campbell's soup and hot dogs in preparation for WWIII, they'd better include some gluten-free options.

Instead of pissing in the radiator, they will be taking a dump in an organic victory garden.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov, Newsweek (21 January 1980)
