  • do you have any tactics for the economy collapsing?

I was in a bar talking to a guy who works in the financial sector last night. He said that there's two ways to go about this.

If its not as bad as it could be, invest. Buy stock. Because if this recovers, you're gonna be ****************ing rich.

OR, if it's as bad as it could be...

Get credit cards, and take the cash off them. Get as much cash in your shoebox as possible. **************** your credit because EVERYONE is gonna end up with ****************ed credit anyway. Just keep cashing in and saving it. Because if it's as bad as the depression, you'll need cash, not a good credit score, to survive.

I'm bringing my coffee to work. Saves me about 2 bucks a day.

If it gets to bad here in the "States" then I will just move.

Other then that I have very little overhead so things should go alright for me and mine...(knocks on wood).

        it will affect everything.

Do you have some miraculous citizenship that allows you to work elsewhere?

I'm already out, so I guess if stuff gets really ****************ed up, my plan would be to not move back.
Then again, where can you go in that case that would be much better?

Tactic number 1: don't take advice off some guy in a bar.

Tactic number 2: same as number 1.

I could move to Japan and work under the table pretty easily. I also have some connections in Canada.

I almost think that going to an underdeveloped country would probably be best. Anywhere that doesn't make it's money off of manufacturing or banking.

exactly. And a place that doesn't carry all it's eggs in one basket.

It's like in the great depression where my grandparents barely noticed. They were farmers who had all sorts of product. Chickens, milk, vegetables. A total general farm.

They ALWAYS had food on the table

I'm freezing my ass off here at the moment, and prices of most things are higher than the US

yeah. Japan and Canada would be the LAST places I'd go. Japan is so tied tot he american market and Canada uses the states as it's major exporter.

I agree the Japan and Canada are not the best destinations per say, but I have people there that will put me up until things blow-over. I figure that would be better then being a stranger in a strange land.
