    • Republicans hate the long term consequences of Reaganomics, but refuse to change the policies or even let others change them. We are doomed unless the Republican party can learn to accept reality. It is clear that the Republican supporters posting in this thread won't.

They don't seem to mind that Romney is a soulless, money grubbing, lying snake oil salesmen of a politician that will say whatever is convenient at that moment to win the sale.

David Brooks, conservative op-ed columnist for the NY Times calls Romney a "a flexible flip-flopper" reasoning that it'll help him get things done in Washington. Yep, that's what we need, a spineless opportunist in the White House.

Flip-flopping, large deficits, cheating on your wife, and going to war are only bad when a Democrat does them.

I'd rather have someone who will change course because the situation warrents it, Obama and Bush Jr before him are both so set on their opinion of what to do that they just plod along oblivious to what really is going on.

Obama is on it with the latest hurricane, but what about the gulf oil spill why did that take one month? Is it because the election is next week?

Who says they hate the consequences? and which Republicans do you mean? Certainly not all of them hate the long term consequences.

Well, they sure whine about them a lot if they don't hate them. The long term consequences are a huge national debt, a severely diminshed middle class, a declining standard of living for most Americans, a large trade deficit, a decreasing rank in the areas of education and healthcare coupled with increasing costs, a lack of job creation, large government spending on the poor, and devaluation of the dollar.

That's all politicians, Clinton signed NAFTA into law, try to be somewhat honest. Here's something to poner, how can Germany have a higher standard of living yet a net export surplus? This is driven through policy that insures protection this is not a strict Republican thing, this is all of them. Have you noticed that Romney is saying we need for China to negociate trade in a fair manner? This means he wants to crack down on currency manipulation, the main reason for the trade imbalance.

China needs us way more than we need them, they will comply.

Of those, the only one I really hear them complain about is the debt, and that they blame on spending, not Reaganomics.

                            • If you're going to try to pin this on Reagan, why don't you keep going back in history and stick it on the men who this mess belongs - Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson.
If you smile at me I will understand because that is something everybody everywhere does in the same language.
