The Rolling Stones were outstanding up till the mid 70's.

Then they started their downward spiral.

I loved them in the 60s & 70s. Still, much respect.

And, my friend plays keyboards for them.

Every Stones fan needs to see Charlie Is My Darling . ( 1965/2012 documentary) They've been showing it on Directv but I also saw the DVD in Walmart. In 65 , a documentary crew followed them up to Ireland for a couple of shows. It has some great concert footage mixed with backstage and hotel room scenes. It has footage of Mick and Keith trying to write Sitting On a Fence...getting drunker as they go..before it drifts off into Keith singing Beatle songs.
It's not about money or popularity , although some money would be nice.

At Goats Head Soup, they jumped the shark.

I also think Exile is totally overrated. It's a great record, but...it's not even in their top 5.
