For God's sake don't go anywhere near your ears with any form of home remedy beyond olive oil or similar - that will soften the wax so that it can be removed by a pro. The old method whereby a syringe squirting a jet of water into your ear to blast the wax out has fallen out of favour. Likewise the slightly more modern version of using a new-fangled machine to pump the water in.
The best way is a method called microsuction - it is a relatively comfortable procedure by comparison with the previous methods. The word "microsuction" may sound disgusting but you won't be able to hear it if you're deaf.
I am the OJ expert on going deaf having gone deaf on several occassions and having been deaf on several others.
