100 years from now, my progeny will have shuffled off this mortal coil, likely leaving no descendants.

That's a pretty good answer to a lot of things. Mostly low level, personal stuff. But 100 years from now, some things that are happening now will still be important, in a historical context, just as WWI is historically important today.

But I'm pretty sure that no one will either know or care about anything I have done in my life by then.

    -- Bob Parks

"A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it."
    -- Oscar Wilde

"No man dies for what he knows to be true. Men die for what they want to be true, for what some terror in their hearts tells them is not true."
    -- Oscar Wilde

"It is a trap of history to believe that eyewitnesses remember accurately what they have lived through."
    -- Theodore White
