That would be appropriate; wouldn't it?
      Or Chicago.
      Or Boston.
      Or Kansas.

I heard it on the radio today. Pretty sure I heard it all but I'm not going to play it again to find out.

Sounds like some musicians made some money. Probably not much, but some, anyway.

Colbert did a segment on this little ditty. He offered advice on how not to rhyme a word with the same word in the same verse, almost the same line. "You can't rhyme 'man' with 'man', you monster."

Among other things, the Cruz commercial was criticizing the D opponent for using the nick name of Beto, which is a Spanish take-off on Robert. He pointed out that Cruz' real first name is Raphael and Ted comes from his middle name, Edward.

Also in the monologue, Colbert mentions that Cohen, the Donald's lawyer, complained after the election that he hadn't been reimbursed the $130K he used for the Stormy hush money. To which Colbert says that Mr. Cohen might have more sympathy for Stormy/Stephanie/Peggy, because now they both have been screwed by Trump.

There was something for songwriters in Colbert's monologue, a website called rhymezone.com. I pulled it up, and it looks promising, a quick rhyming dictionary. Thanks, Cruz.

He can be President of Puerto Rico.

I'd rather be dead than red.
But I'd rather be red than Ted.

If You're Going To Play In Texas (You Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band) was written by Murray Kellum and Dan Mitchell, and made famous by the band Alabama.

I'm not really sure if the courts would consider this adaptation to be "fair use" (as a parody) or not but if I was a politician, I'd first seek permission and pay the licensing to avoid any controversy for any song or adaptation thereof that I wanted to use in my campaign.

Scratch that: If I was a politician, the first thing I'd do is go have my head examined...
