  • Does your city have one of these?

San Francisco does. It's a poop map. Developed to let people know where human waste might be most prevalent on the Streets of.

My town, Toledo does not have such a map. But then again, we aren't a sanctuary city. And the state of Ohio is run by John Kasich, a Republican who wouldn't let things get this bad.

Anyway, if you're planning to take in the GG bridge, Dogpatch, or Alcatraz, keep this link handy.

You're implying there's a connection between San Francisco's status as a sanctuary city and the amount of human excrement on the city's streets. You've shown no such correlation with the link. In fact, the correlation shown has to do with homelessness, not immigrants.

Neither do I. I live just outside a city - so I can have the best of both worlds.

      HCPP has a similar feature.

It shows certain icons next to thread titles where there is a higher than likely chance that you’ll find a pile of poop.

Ironically, my avatar isn’t one of those icons.

I don't live in a city either. The small gated golf-course neighborhood I live doesn't have any real problems with human poop, although people not picking up the dog poop is a constant issue at the HOA meetings.

The nearest city to me is Reno and it is about the same size as Toledo and has been accused of being a "sanctuary city" based on some of its laws but others dispute that. But as far as I know, they have no such map and I've never heard of any such poop problem there. So not sure how 'sanctuary cities' have anything to do with it.

Maybe it's because Reno's Dem mayor is hotter than either SF's or Toledo's Dem mayors?

Perhaps someday SF will be as fine a city as Toledo, Ohio.

Toledo's pretty boring compared to San Fran. Just saying.

BTW, last time I was in the Bay Area I listened to talk radio and there was a lot of complaining about car vandalism. Petty crime like that goes up and down in all cities. Right now, it's up in the Bay Area. People are getting pretty sick of it.

Around 1990 I lived in Portland, OR and every damn morning I went outside there was broken glass in the street from smashed car windows. I think they were doing it for sport, not theft. Anyway, that problem has gone away. Not sure why. These things run in cycles.

this article discusses the unique problem of homeless illegal immigrants. they are a 'hidden' segment of the homeless, due to their desire to fly under the radar and not avail themselves of the goods and services available to the native homeless population.

                        Toledo facts:

Homelessness is on the rise as many people deal with home foreclosures. Nearly 1,100 people are considered homeless this year, up by about 100 from last year. More than one-third of the homeless are categorized as severely mentally ill or chronic substance abusers. One hundred are veterans and nearly 150 are victims of domestic violence.
