  • Dem rep's bill would require paper voting, recounts in close elections

    Any objections?

A new bill would require states to use voting machines with paper backups and conduct audits in close elections.
Rep. Debbie Dingle (D-Mich.) introduced the Safeguarding Election Infrastructure Act Wednesday, which aims to increase elections security by requiring voting machines funded by the federal Help America Vote Act print a paper receipt of each vote.

A growing group of critics believes that possible election hacking can be curbed, in part, by providing an auditable paper trail of votes that can corroborate if digital records are changed.

The Guardians Of The Privileged will vote against any Bill that will threaten their power.
An educated voter, a healthy functional Democracy, end of Gerrymandering, the elimination of the Electoral College to bypass the will of the People and reality are their biggest enemies / threat.

I’ve been suggesting something like this forever -

It’s the easiest fix in the world: Have a voting machine that spits out a receipt. The voter inspects the receipt to ensure it’s accurate and deposits it in a locked box.

In the event of a close election, the votes can be counted manually. Personally, I’d have the machine tallies be ‘preliminary’ in every case, with a final vote only being certified after the manual count.

No objections. Then we can get back to legitimate excuses for losing.

Seems reasonable to me..but then why have the machine at all?

The machine provides same night results. Allows the winners to start planning the transition while the final vote is tallied. Also gives 24 hour news something to report on election night.

With the paper trail keeping the machines honest, the ‘official’ tally should line up with the ‘preliminary’ tally every time.

The machines we have here in Nevada are electronic and generates a paper copy. Which then scrolls past and you review it before you complete voting. You don’t get to touch it as it stays in the machine, but it exists.

Seems like a pretty good machine? Maybe other states should look into it.

Objections from me? Nope. I like the idea of a hard-copy record in the voters' own blotch-making that can be re-counted in the event of a dispute. Donald Trump, on the other hand, would be furious if 3 Million Illegal Mexican Votes were recounted and determined to be valid votes by American citizens. I do wish that man would find a test pattern and fade back into it. Oh, and drop his cell phone into a, how shall I put this? ''loaded'' toilet.

We know now (see Hillary) how dems value "elections".

Why should anyone trust democrats? They cheat.

                      I can provide links.

                      Just the answer will do.

It’s funny how, in the middle of a rational discussion about effective ways to ensure the accuracy of voting machines, some people can’t come up with a thought deeper than to shriek “HILLARY!”

                      Funny and sad.

I say Russia you say Clinton.

I say fair and free elections you say Clinton.

I say conflict of interest from people from industry appointed 2 run federal agencies in charge of that industry you say Clinton.

That pony of yours has learned that one trick incredibly well.
