  • SCOTUS unanimously overturns lower court decision

    It's nice to see some consensus somewhere in this country.

    The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday overturned a lower court ruling that an Alabama man convicted of killing a police officer in 1985 was no longer legally eligible to be executed because strokes wiped out his memory of committing the murder.

    Reprehensible as it was, gassing was a conventional and accepted method for execution at the time. It is a stretch to equivocate the two.

    I'm surprised the lower court didn't order his release if they think he's not accountable for his crime anymore.
