Awesome. There will much angst among the White Nationalist. No school or government building should be named after any traitorous Confederate SOB.

Good. (In before people who never read SC's or MS's declarations of causes of secession try to claim that seceding wasn't about slavery.)

Yay! Does this mean the left will stop exploiting African Americans as victims and profiting off of their self imposed despair?

And deprive the right of that imaginary boogeyman? Why would they want to do that?

What they should have done is demolished the old school and built a new one in Obama's name. This way, not only are they saying "**************** you" to history, they're also making some of those shovel ready jobs Obama was fond of talking about.

            Win all around, right?

Current global warming temperature trend: 0.05ºC per decade, plus or minus 0.1ºC (source: UN IPCC AR5) ...Yes, the error rate is higher than the estimated rate of change.

"Anthropogenic global warming is a proposed theory whose basic mechanism is well understood, but whose magnitude is highly uncertain. The growing evidence that climate models are too sensitive to CO2 has implications for the attribution of late-20th-century warming and projections of 21st-century climate. If the recent warming hiatus is caused by natural variability, then this raises the question as to what extent the warming between 1975 and 2000 can also be explained by natural climate variability." --Dr. Judith Curry, chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology

No need. The Obama Recovery had had us at near full-employment for about 18 months now.

Should we go back to using names like Alta California and Nuevo Mexico to preserve history? Or is it normal for places to change their names over time and for history to nevertheless be preserved in books, libraries, lecture halls, web sites, etc.?

What Would Jefferson Davis Do if our national anthem was being played before a sports contest?

Providing they don't remove Stephen Foster's statue. If that happens, we will never even know that Foster existed.

                        Daniel Emmett wrote that one.

If only he had a statue, maybe more people would know that.

I like the way The Republic of Texas rolls off the tongue. I think the Commonwealth of Virginia is catchy.

You seem to feel that the only way to acknowledge history is to name buildings and build statues honoring the enemies of America.

Will you be advocating for Osama Bin Laden Elementery School next?
