Despite all the moanin', groanin', whining from certain people, you might take notice that being not PC has been on quite a roll in politics lately. His conviction & his willingness to solidly stand behind them, may ring true with the voters of Alabama,...especially compared to the current crop of spineless, lying, do nothing politicians...including trump. They're hunting loyalty
SteinbergerHacks' post accurately nailed it. Alabama isn't the only state where people are getting tired of activist judges overruling their laws, their votes & their lives. Maybe they want to succeed in getting some activist politicians on their side.........and according to them...make America great again.

Mercedes also charges a much higher price for their cars and has a below average quality record.

Evidently people don't pay much attention to that. Mercedes has "The Name" & for Americans it is the "status" appeal of the car. Americans are HUGE on bling. You certainly can't say the U.S. car makers are making a great splash with their investments in the U.S. manufacturing plants.

That's not something I care much about in cars. I look at functional items - performance, handling, seat comfort, availability of the option combinations I want, etc. I've never seriously considered the Mercedes cars as a result - they just aren't making any cars that have the features and performance I am looking for.

Yeah, the last three cars I've bought were Porsche, BMW, and Dodge.

Porsche makes a fantastic, high-quality car, but it somehow turns all the other drivers around you into jerks. Everyone nearby either wants to race, cut you off, turn in front of you, etc. It is STRONGLY noticeable. Love the car, hate driving it in traffic.

BMW has decent feature/function packages, but too many issues with them. Great car when it's working right, but....

The Dodge has a lot of little minor quality problems - squeaks, rattles, etc. but otherwise is a pretty solid useful car.

I like a nice reliable car with small maintenance costs...Honda or Toyota will do just fine.

                        From the perfect country song....

I was drunk the night my mom got out of prison and I went to pick her up in the rain.

But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck she got run over by a damned old train.

Damned "activist" judges siding with the individual rather than allowing a majority of people to use the power of the government to oppress their individual freedoms.
