And I question the wisdom of Pelosi and Schumer getting too far out ahead of Trump in public and pissing him off and blowing the deal. Although I get they want to put public pressure on him and the GOP to follow through with it. Tricky politics to play there.

But with all this back and forth it seems more like a disagreement over how solid the details are rather than the broad outline.
I don't think the plan has anything to do with putting pressure on Trump.

I think it has to do with the fact that when trump acquiesced to the Dems regarding the debt ceiling, the mainstream media, which he cares deeply about, praised him and touted him as an 'independent' president.

That gave him his first Viagra free woody since the eighties, and the thinking is that he'll do what they say as long as it provides that feeling.

Sort of like training an orangutan to pull a particular lever that dispenses treats.

That's the pressure I'm talking about.

Schumer and Pelosi ran to the media as quick as they could right away for a reason. They hope that if they do so the press will lavish praise on Trump for cutting a popular deal and he'll be even more willing to go along with it which will, in turn, put Ryan and McConnell even further into a box.

The risk is they go too far too fast and make Trump feel like he is being manipulated, or that they are getting too much of the credit in which case it could backfire. Trump needs to feel like he's in charge here and getting all the attention and glory.

Trump needs to figure out a way to get the 'Dreamers' to pay for his wall...that way it is a win-win for him, since most of them are of Mexican descent...

          The headlines should read:

TRUMP SICK OF LOSING TURNS TO DEMS TO START WINNING.

Where is the sad tuba button for Mcturtle and Ryan.

Once Trump gets a taste of the winning involved with the progressive agenda and not the old white male southern dirt bag agenda he will hopefully become an easily manipulated puppet for the minority dems lol.

Is it any surprise the dems had to be the mature adults and try to work with the worst president our country has ever had?

It's fun to watch the Coulters and Hannitys of the world, not to mention garden variety Trumpkins across the nation, rending their garments over this.

The fact that they're just now beginning to realize what Intelligent people knew before trump rode that escalator and began his game - that he was a con man with no ideology who would do whatever earned him a cookie regardless of what he had promised previously - demonstrates that they're really not all that bright.

I tried to warn them all that Trump would break their heart. Now we see them alone crying into their pillows wondering how this could if happened.

AFAIK they weren't but Trump theoretically represents the Republicans. The article should probably have said "all three sides."

There's a great compilation on youtube of Trump himself directly contradicting everything he says. How do you put faith in anything a man like that says?
