Man's Got To Know His Limitations........

  • #2

Dude.  some real tin foil hat stuff in there.  you also know the demo most prevalent here seems to be aging white males...and across the board im guessing a higher than average amount of drugs tobacco and alcohol.

all of these predispose to respiratory infections.  this is beyond the standard and already elevated risks this time of year.

the best things to do are to stay up to date with your medical problems, spend time in both the outdoors and indoors excercising, getting your vaccines...and know how and where to prevent transmission.  of course the pneumonia vaccine, dpt, and not smoking or drinking are as important.

as an example...washing hands is partially negated when you contact uncleaned door knobs. phones, etc.

Can't believe you said it was tinfoil hat stuff!  Of course, I agree.

Sure, washing hands and not touching your eyes, nose or mouth are good ways to reduce infection spread.  Sure, fresh air and sunshine and exercise have LONG been ways to stay healthy.  But not get vaccines? That's just STUPID, and I'm glad you said so.

We currently have a flu pandemic because too many people did NOT get the vaccine this year, which is well-matched to this year's flu. Pertussis is widespread for the same reason. Vaccination has long been an effective way to cause the collapse of diseases.  Part of why Polio was conquered was vaccinated children became lousy hosts so the disease couldn't spread.  There has not been one recorded case of Smallpox in, what? 40 years?

But while Vitamin D is good, and is produced by sunshine, it can also be gotten from foods.  It's a necessary vitamin, but not a magic tin-foil hat cure.

Several chemicals he mentioned have been discredited as effective in preventing colds and flu.

But count on LC to really bring the hard-core crazy these days.

More sex is the only solution; that's why the very old and very young are the most vulnerable to the flu.
