RIP to one of the funkiest human beings ever and a heck of a guitarist

I really dig the second video ("Fopp").

Too bad I couldn't appreciate OPs back in the day.

Being a blues/rock snob, it was all 'disco' to me. :catembarrassed:

    RIP, Mr Bonner.

Oh man, early Ohio Players were so NOT disco... pure funk with some RE&B ballads, all heavily Gospel influenced.

Here's the entire "Skin Tight" album... check out "Jive Turkey" at 21:38...

I LOVE that Skin Tight album! Everyone should have that one by the Ohio Players...

I used to play in a band where we did Rollercoaster of Love, which as far as I could tell was just major triads played with 9th embellishments. But no matter how authentically I thought I was playing it, the guys in the band would be like, that's really close! And I was all like close? Whadyamean close? That's it.

Apparently he had some secret mojo which eluded me.
