    Kanye who?

Why do chicken coops have two doors?
Because if they had four doors they would be chicken sedans.

Kanye is a bag of ****************.

The Grammys lose a few suck points.

      But, they still suck.

Kanye's so called music is nothing more than running excrement.

His taste in women runs in the sewer also.

He has an album of Visconti covers?

People with good musicianship produce good music.  People with good technology in place of the former produce beautifully polished turds.

By the way, I am an excellent sight reader at piano, guitar, bass and vocal.  And I will be the first to say that reading music is not a prerequisite to writing a great song.

Sometimes 3 chords and a catchy melody trumps million MPH sweeps.

          Absolutely agreed.

It could be 400 years old or 400 hours old.  There is good music and bad music.

...Augmented triads, bIII and bVI chords.  "It's My Party" is more harmonically complex than anything I've heard on pop radio, lately.

If music only had one dimension, and it was harmonic complexity, then you would have a point!

Sorry for going back on topic...
I, for one, am very disappointed that we won't get to see another signature Kanye award show tantrum.

How old you were has everything to do with it. You were likely a little kid when you first heard Sugar Sugar which is why you still think its cool. Had you actually been 45? You'd probably like it as much as you like Call Me Maybe.

Do I really need to explain the psychology of pop music to you?

I'm not the one putting down any music. Read the thread. It's YOU saying this or that music is ****************. I'm just saying pop music is pop music. It's as good/bad now as its been for decades.

I dunno--I've been watching the Grammys for the last hour--Ed Sheenan, Miguel, Mumford and Sons, Miranda Lambert, Fun... It all seems pretty musical and melodic to me. Not much I'm gonna run out and buy because I'm an old guy, but I don't really see what all the complaining about modern pop is about...
