  • Two questions for the righties

    Gun Rights

If a "tyrannical government" were to come to take your guns, which arm(s) of government would they use?

    Immigration

If Canadians were willing to hire you illegally for ten times your current pay would you ignore Canadian law and go?

A tyrannical government would not care which arm of the government they use. Kinda like busting Al Capone for tax evasion. It doesnt really matter, so long as the government gets what it wants.

Yeah, I probably would. Depends on Canadian law. Some places will throw you in a pit until you've pounded enough rocks to pay back whatever you earned illegally.

The question wasn't whether or not it'd care but which arm(s) of the government would be used.

Sympathy for Al Capone - how surprising.

"Reported for using big words when asking righties questions."

You consider those to be "big words"? May I suggest extending your vocabulary?

That's a good question. In SC there is a bill in the General Assembly as we speak to exempt any weapon bought prior to Dec. 31 2012 from any federal weapons ban.  I don't think the SCNG would do it. Maybe troops from Fort Bragg?

No. I don't want to break the law and I don't want to live in Canada. I have no problem with a path to immigration as the illegal aliens in my neck of the woods contribute far more to society than do any of the local liberals; in short, the aliens work.

I'm another one who votes, "It doesn't matter". and it really doesn't. Because once it happens, it's the fault of the apathetic people

uhh, kinda vague but definitely not as specific as the 2nd amendment is in it's content. i think its' meaning weighs a bit heavier than a lot of the others. take away the 2nd amendment and the oters kinda don't matter anymore.

          • #11
"Take away the 2nd and the others don't matter anymore" is as dumb a meme as they come. Our nation has prospered, grown and strengthened over the last 225 years without needing an individual right to bear arms to protect all the other rights. We've done it the court system and rule of law.

I don't doubt some of the founders may have believed we would need that right considering their history. But it's proven to be unnecessary.

Which ever "arm(s)" of the gov't they wanted to.  I would doubt it would be the IRS, since they're going to have their hands full enforcing healthcare,

If Canadians were willing to hire you illegally for ten times your current pay would you ignore Canadian law and go?

Nope. There are a lot of places, within the U.S, that I can go that already offer a higher pay, but I'm not going to those. I like it where I'm at.

Your first question is vapid, as the word 'tyrannical' itself explains.

                  Adjective
                  1. Exercising power in a cruel or arbitrary way.

It is clear that a tyrannical government would use whatever methods it had at its disposal to effect the intended results.

Your second question is non-sequitur to the first, but my answer is 'No, I would not.'  Under such circumstances I MAY consider voluntary expatriation however.
