I was an original Trek fan for years but it's a little hokey. My favorite was DS9 and then latter years of Voyager.  Not only was Jeri Ryan hot, she was a better character than the one she replaced (Tes?).  AND she helped get Barack Obama elected Senator and then President!

The remake of Battle Star Galactica was amazing.  The original was pure dreck.

Not Sci-Fi, but for some dumb reason I really enjoy Elementary.  I wait till they put it on the website and then watch it without commercials.

That's it for me and fiction TV for the last 20 years.

Funny I was just talking about that with a fellow trekkie. Back when the show was first aired, we considered it really cutting edge, thought provoking. Watching it now, it seems less so. I think there was a lot of inconsistancies in the writing back then. Some of the episodes stand out as classics, while some would be best forgotten.

Anyhow, it's still one of most enjoyed, probably as much for the characters and chemistry between the characters as anything. Spock was quite an original.

I liked 'Lost in Space' as a kid.

The original 2001 Space Odyssey is probably my favorite science fiction movie.

Blade Runner, a close runner up.

Fantastic Voyage is still interesting, although the effects and acting are not exactly inspiring.

      District 9 was good.

Dune gets honorable mention for the most 'wtfs???'

    Films in no particular order:

    Blade Runner

    Star Wars IV & V

    Alien 1

    Terminator 1 & 2

    Close Encounters

    12 Monkeys

    Gattaca

    Total Recall (original)

I've watched a bit of sci fi on TV but I always get bored pretty quickly so no faves there....

          This Island Earth

The original version of 'Invasion of the bodysnatchers'  (lovely paranoid McCarthyite subtext)

The original 'Village of the damned'.

Timeslip (a British childrens TV programme from the '70s)

Question: Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?

          Answer: because it was dead.

The original Thing. My avatar is a model of it you can buy, and they're pretty scarce.

The Trollenburg Terror was a British TV show they based The Crawling Eye on. I'd love to see that.

There was a Outer Limits show called The Inheritors with Robert Duvall that was really good. I think it was in 3 parts.

Oldies but goodies I liked Them, Forbidden Planet and The Thing from another World.

Wavelength is a good one. Starred one of the Carradene boys. I think Robert.

One Step Beyond was a good series. Others I liked already mentioned.

Apart from the obvious choices in the modern day Firefly/Serenity and Jericho were both excellent and underrated imho
