    Both sides are using extortion techniques to get what they want. Anybody who blames it all on one party or the other are the major part of the problem
    There can never be a perfect plan. What's perfect for one human bean ain't perfect for the next one. Cuz he's a lentil.

      That's not really what this article is about. I'm no fan of R's and am looking for a "cohesive" article that blames them. I'll then start a thread with that one. But I have not found one yet.

      I believe that the R's are blaming Obama and Obama is blaming the R's. But the fact is that the sequester may be a very good thing. I've said for a year or so that the solution to our problem will not be voluntary because anyone suggesting something that might actually make any positive difference would never be elected, due to the austerity it would require. The Sequester is so tiny that it would have no impact, but it is a start. It will give thoughtful people a hint at the **************** we are in. And the sequester is not voluntary.

      I'll give you  two ideas:

      1. The idea of the sequester and the super committee originated in the Whitehouse with Obama;

      2. Obama signed the bill that was then sent to him in response to his suggestion.

      They're not.  They are pointing out that they tried to give him the power to choose which budget increases were to be scaled back by 2% instead of the arbitrary reductions, but he refused - twice. He refused because of his bone headed insistence on making more tax increases part of any deal.

      He is simply pulling a pr stunt.

      Yeah, that's a real important distinction.
