  • Bloomberg : "Hide the Cigarette Displays"

Mayor Michael Bloomberg called for legislation to make New York the first U.S. city to require stores to conceal tobacco products, a week after a court struck down his ban on the sale of large sugary beverages.

Mayor Mike has the best of intentions, he really does. That's easy to see. Quit smoking, drink less soda, etc. Laudable goals. And the inertia of a society that does not seem to want to learn is frustrating.... and ingrained patterns are so difficult to change without various behavior modification initiatives.

But his approach is problematic in a free society. Nanny-Mayor is not what people want. Even libruls.

Maybe he'll let them use some of that tobacco tax money that he enjoys for the upgrades.

      Nah..........

I disagree. It is exactly what the left wants. They love being told what to eat, what to drink, what to watch on TV, what kind of car to drive, what kind of clothes to wear.

They want that control, and they vote for it every time.

In other words, he's a raving Fascist control freak.

It's not as if we have socialized health care or something. People go BANKRUPT from sickness... let everyone do what they want to do. IF we really were socialized, then he'd have a leg to stand on... but as long as people have to pay for their ****************... **************** YOU. let them do whatever they want, as long as no one else is involved.

yeah... duh. I know. Smoking is awful. It's killing me... but you know what? It keeps me from murdering the general population. SO, the government should subsidize my smoking... and let me die when I get lung cancer.

The good news is that he's older than the average life expectancy, and hopefully doesn't have much time left.

He's healthy and might be the only hope for Republicans in 2016.
