WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said on Thursday that North Korea's provocative actions and belligerent tone had "ratcheted up the danger" on the Korean peninsula, but he denied that the United States had aggravated the situation by flying stealth bombers to the region.

"We have to take seriously every provocative, bellicose word and action that this new young leader has taken so far" since coming to power, Hagel told a Pentagon news conference, referring to Kim Jong-un.

What would you like him to do about NK's threats to that region? We have thousands of Troops in SK would the GOP squeal if we pulled them out? So lets have Davies Foreign policy plan. Should be worth a laugh or 3.

This whole thing could end badly for North Korea but its definitely time for us to stop the cycle if provocation followed by us rewarding them with aid for backing down. They have been playing this game with the world for far too long. The entire time they were diligently working at becoming a nuclear power and using the saber rattling to keep the world at bay while they did so. Perhaps they have been getting away with it for so long that they are really just oblivious to the potential consequences. Without China backing them they are completely screwed and its looking like the Chinese are tiring of their antics as well.

Dont forget, their pal Iran is seeing this the whole time.  Wonder what they are gonna try.

Iran has been playing the same game with us for many years. It's a tough situation with no good options.
