  • TN lawmakers tried to take away money from needy families whose children got bad grades...

...I'm sure a lot of you righties love this idea. If you are on TANF (temporary assistamnce for needy families) in TN, and your kid gets bad grades, some lawmakers wanted to reduce your benefit by 30%.

Another great republican idea.... punish the entire family, because a kid is struggling in school.

    Family values baby.

Unless the child has learning disabilities, this is a good idea.

how so? what possible benefit can there be for making a poor family poorer because their child isnt doing so well in school. maybe he or she isnt doing so well because of malnutrition, or ADD or some other condition.  Ray Charles once said -- being poor never inspired anyone.

I figured you or Ellis would be the first ones to cheerlead for this bit of republican insanity.

What about other health or emotional issues?

      What about un-diagnosed LD?

You really think it's fair to a kid to put the pressure on a kid whether or not that family eats?

Have you ever consudered asking Phil to restore yoiur TwinTurbo account?

Taking away a child's food for bad grades is a horrible idea. How is a kid going to improve their grades when they don't have enough to eat?

So... if I have this right, California is going broke because of a budget surplus?
