  • UPC or EAN barcode

I want to get a barcode for my CD. I live in Japan. I thought that I could get it through the UPC site, but it said that my country (Japan) supports EAN. I'd like to sell my CD(s) anywhere in the world. What barcode should I apply for?

Once your order the bar code, they'll send it to you in graphical form. You also have a unique number with your bar code. You can take that graphic and add it to your disc graphic, or the DVD case overwrap graphic. As long as the proportions of the bar code are preserved and as long as it is printed at 300 dpi or higher, your bar code will be scan-able.

In the U.S.A. UPC-A is by far the most common retail barcode.
        In Europe it's EAN-13.

Since they are quite similar codes, most scanners for either can read both.

so i think both can be tried
