Does talent really add up to good music?

every artist has fans. some have many while some have a nice mom. no matter what kind of music it is someone will like it. As for talent.....if a musican is talented then that basically means the can play pretty damn good. It also could mean, but generally doesn't, songwriting. songwriting i think is the real talent. granted there are those few musicians that just blow your mind by how good they are and these people generally introduce some new technique of playin, whether it be a style or tuning. But does that make them enjoyable? it can if you like the music although i know plenty of talented musicians and some have been in bands for a bit only to find it wasn't enjoyable. The most important thing is for the band to enjoy it. if they don't, why should anyone else.

It doesn't hurt. But as EG said above, it's the songs that people enjoy. Mediocre musicians can get by playing a great song far more than great players can when playing a crappy song.
