Music Distribution Services - Could Someone Assist?

Hey guys,

I've recently signed up to CDbaby after searching for a way to get my band on spotify.

CDbaby was unclear about payment until the very last minute - up until then it seemed like they would just take a cut and I was pretty happy about this.

However, seeing as there are many services, which one is the best one?

Tom

EDIT: Also, I'm British - if that's of any relevance.

People won't listen to bands they don't know on Spotify. They won't look for them either.

Just my opinion...

Other than CDBaby, maybe you can look at Tunecore?

Thanks :)

I'm gonna keep looking and shop around - I'm now signed up to Tunecore.

But I gotta say, I strongly disagree about the comments on spotify.

You need to promote yourself by all channels available. I used ditto to distribute my music to Spotify, itunes etc.

Just found someone in these forums who was searching for BRMC Howl and came across my EP called Raisin' Such A Howl! EP on Spotify. They gave me a good review here... so it's worth investing to get your music out there. It only cost £22, so not that much at all!
