Members Nijyo
This is an interesting article that popped up last night or this morning: http://arstechnica.com/media/news/2009/08/uks-youth-would-pay-for-all-you-can-eat-music-downloads.ars The comments section is more interesting than the article, including reasons why the idea of "buffet style" subscriptions probably won't work so well. (plus the article has some stock photo of an attractive woman, so what more do you NEED??? )
Members Styrofoam
There's only one way to stop piracy. ISP enforcement. Positive reinforcement is always a good thing, but if people aren't fearful of getting caught then they won't stop.
Members Jacob Mathews
I agree with that article. It seems to point out what music consumers are seeking the most, which is a fair price based on what they are getting. This would actually translate to downloads giving royalties to the artist, which could be implemented to track how many times a file is downloaded. That's definitely a step forward in embracing new technology. Another way to bring this concept into the physical market is to have the release sold on custom printed USB drives, like the ones I mentioned in this post.
