Phil O'Keefe Posted February 16, 2016 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Personally I'd rather hear someone going for it and putting that emotion into their performance, even if it has the occasional rough spot. As she said, those can be smoothed out with practice or punched in in the studio, but the emotion is more difficult to impart if it's not there to begin with. And lack of emotion is a sure way for an artist not to connect with the listener... The whole time I was listening, I was thinking how strong the song was and what potential there was for it.
