Members Tomm Williams
Would like to do a mash up of this song. The crowd we usually play to likes this era of music but I don't care for how the whole songs flows. What could we mash it with, doesn't even need to be same era. Members sweatpat
How about a train themed medley with Folsom Prison (I hear the train a coming, rolling round the bend) and Mystery Train (Elvis). What key are you doing Clarksville in?
Members Vito Corleone
If they like that era of music, "I Feel Fine" would probably work pretty well.
Members Tomm Williams
We're looking at doing it in G. Have not really messed with it much yet
Members tlbonehead
I Feel Fine might work well, as mentioned. Also, Saw Her Standing There, although you probably wouldn't want to do that in G. How about, I'm a Believer? Members Vito Corleone
Like you said, it's about recognition. Mashing in an older song to a newer song for a younger crowd? Pretty easy to do. But mashing in a newer one for an older crowd? Not saying it can't be done if done well. Just that I'd proceed with caution. For almost any mash up to work well it requires recognition of both numbers.
