This city is fierce, and the Dropkicks are the unofficial band of Boston. They're local, they're visible, and their songs, especially "Shipping Off to Boston," are kind of like our battle cries. I've got a gig next weekend with my old rock cover band, and we're planning on playing the song twice over the course of the night. Bostonians, as a whole, aren't soft people. We're the type of people who would prefer when you get to the line "to find my wooden leg!", you sing it louder and wave your middle finger in the air instead of skipping the tune.
