  • What are some of the more iconic movie songs you guys can think of?

Trying to figure out some of the more iconic movie songs from the past few decades. Songs that you hear, and identify with a certain movie or scene in a movie more than anything else. Stuff like

    "Lose Yourself"

    "Don't You Forget About Me"

    "Gangsta's Paradise"

    "I Will Always Love You"

    "Eye of the Tiger"

"(I've Had the) Time of My Life"

    "Footloose"

    "Ghostbusters"

"Stuck In The Middle With You"

    "Maniac"

    "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"

    "Oh Yeah!"

    "What A Wonderful World"

    "In Your Eyes"

"Do You Really Want to Hurt Me"

    "9 to 5"

    "Old Time Rock and Roll"

    "Take My Breath Away"

    "Stayin Alive"

... what else can you guys think of as being songs that immediately invoke the image of a particular movie scene or movie?

At a gig last week at a local senior center, I was asked if I could play something without singing. I whistled "The Colonel Bogey March" from the movie "The Bridge on the River Kwai".

        The audience loved it.

"I Can't Turn You Loose" or "She Caught The Katy" (The Blues Brothers)

"Against All Odds" (Against All Odds)

"Everybody Wants To Rule The World" (Real Genius)

"You Can Leave Your Hat On" (9 1/2 Weeks)

And I don't know about how "iconic" you would consider the "After Dark" song by Tito and Tarantula that Salma Hayek danced to in From Dusk 'Til Dawn, but it is sure iconic to me!
