Members StratGuy22
Maybe there's an agent out there that can get you into rooms that would be a good match for your act.
Members Guitar Slim
Jeff,Are you using Google Chrome? I got the same error message using Chrome but not with IE. The web guys said there is something there that they will have to go through and clean out but it hasn't effected us in any other way yet. Thanks! Members Vito Corleone
Take a look a Gigmasters. They have been a fantastic source of good paying private events for us and I know a lot of tribute bands get work there as well. You need good audio and video demos to get work (haven't had the chance to look at your stuff yet) but if you guys are good, I can't imagine a good Billy Joel act wouldn't work a lot
Members WynnD
Radio works amazingly well. You have to have an ad that says what they are hearing is you. You need to pick appropriate stations. It's not cheap, but I'm betting a payback in less than a year of either better paying or more jobs. (Probably both.) Members TrickyBoy
Y'all sound really good. My 2 cents (which aren't even worth that) is that Billy Joel's popularity is, much like Bruce Springsteen, huge in the NYC metro area, but otherwise much more "nichey". I don't know if either a Springsteen or a Joel tribute act would do well finding regular work here in Louisiana. Conversely, when I lived in Jersey, everyone I knew loved both of them and a good tribute band would be in high demandI guess I'm not sure where you'd score regular gigs outside of clubs/bars, and even that would be difficult to stay in a close regional area. It's definitely an act that if you were willing to travel, you could do very well as a casino/fair/event band. All that being said... IMO, your best bet is something like Gigmasters or I'd look for a good agent with connections into the corporate/private party scene.
Members Guitar Slim
We're looking into Gigmasters. Is the original fee, $299/yr, all that we pay or does Gigmasters get a cut of each gig? Are there any other fees that I've not caught yet. Thanks,Gregg
