Anyone ever do a political fundraiser?

We got asked to do one. I am about as apolitical as you can get, so I'm pretty clueless about how they work.

We've never done any type of private event other than the very casual type. What's a reasonable way to figure price compared to what we'd normally earn at a live-music venue?

Thanks!

Mike

I've done quite a few as general PA supplier. (Had many Denver polititions on my system and one early Presidential candidate.) As a musician, none, but if we did one, it might be cheap, but it wouldn't be free. (Might donate my own time, but I will never donate a bandmate's time. We might not even politically be on the same page.)

Good point - our "singer" in that project is a liberal but her desire to gig (remember this is just a basement jam band) overcame her distaste of supporting the Republicans LOL. OTOH a country project I just put together Monday has a newspaper reporter as the singer/rhythm player so we can't do anything like that freak.gif.
