I think Carvin makes pretty good poweramps for the budget. I mean they cant really compare to VHT poweramps but if you cant afford a VHT, then a carvin is a good choice. Members Stonedtone Posted September 29, 2006 Members Share Posted September 29, 2006 I've had the ol Carvin Quad X pre with a Crown amp for years and I finally bought the TS100 about 6 months ago. I think it sounds great. Really warmed up my tone. I've been wanting to install 6L6's on on side and use a Tonebone head switcher to toggle between the 34's and 6l6's.
