Advertising in SIG's.

After a recent debate, it has been agreed that advertising in your signature (as far as linking to your company or personal sales website (as in an Ebay based sale)) is currently being deemed as acceptable. This covers linking to your, or a colleague's website. Advertising in SIGs is NOT to be used for commercial sales or appear to be designed to procure commercial sales.

 

It has also been confirmed (and this will be enforced, without personal preference, by any appointed Moderator or Admin representing the HC forums) that anyone found to be dealing from within the HC forums, or procuring sales from within the forums in contravention to the HC forum's Terms of Agreement, will be banned for an appropriate time.

 

The specific section of the TOS that applies here is quoted forthwith, so please accept that these are the rules, which we are ALL obliged to follow, and ignoring them could be the very reason that a forumite could be banned.

 

 

3. Non Commercial Use by Members. The Website is for the personal use of individual Members only and may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except as noted in section (5f) below. Organizations, companies, and/or businesses may not become Members without written permission from Harmony Central or its agents, although individuals within organizations, companies, and/or businesses are encouraged to become members. Illegal and/or unauthorized uses of the Website, including collecting usernames and/or email addresses of members by electronic or other means for the purpose of sending unsolicited email and unauthorized framing of or linking to the Website will be investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken, including without limitation, civil, criminal, and injunctive redress. 5f. Except as permitted in areas designated by HC or its agents (such as mentions of gear for sale in member signatures, or designated "Spam" threads within forums), you may not engage in advertising to, or solicitation of, other Members to buy or sell any products or services through the Service. You may not transmit any chain letters or junk email to other Members. Although HC cannot monitor the conduct of its Members off the Website, it is also a violation of these rules to use any information obtained from the Service in order to harass, abuse, or harm another person, or in order to contact, advertise to, solicit, or sell to any Member without their prior explicit consent. In order to protect our Members from such advertising or solicitation, HC reserves the right to restrict the number of emails which a Member may send to other Members in any 24-hour period to a number which HC deems appropriate in its sole discretion.

 

 

Private Messages are politely left private by the staff of HC under normal circumstances. If there is a potential need to prove the above rules are being broken in an individual case then please don't assume that somebody's private messages would never be used in the form of evidence to defend a banning, if an extreme need may arise.
