Members mstreck
On top of our truss, we have two ADJ Tri FX lights and one ADJ Bar 5. Right now we're using C-type clamps and have the bolt going into the truss hole so the lights can't fall forward. It seems pretty fool proof, but it forces the lights to be in very specific spots on the truss. I would like the option of putting them anywhere along the top of the truss and knowing that they will safely be held in place. How 'safe" are O-Clamps for this? They are quick and painless for *hanging* lights but do they have enough friction to hold these lights in place? Is there another option? Thanks! Members Nusouth
We use o-clamps for top mounting with no problems. It is easier than c-clamps to position your lights and they hold very well.
Members soundlight
What is the outer diameter of your truss? There are some metal O-clamps that I would trust for this. My favorite is The Light Source's Mega Slim Coupler. Works for anywhere from 1.66" to 2.05" outer diameter truss tube & pipe.
Members mstreck
Pretty sure it's 1-3/8" O.D.. This is the type (non-triangular truss):
