Members nchangin
The counter was at 90 hours on both of them when I fired them up so that must be their burn in or test time. My first time with moving heads and all the cons I've found (for my application) don't apply to DMX program users but 1st impression:1. they even move when your programming them, remember to wear sunglasses, ha 2. sound active mode I thought I would have more options on the pan and tilt to limit say forward 180 degrees only, all I get for pan and tilt is YES and NO, and I tried it both ways didn't seem to make a difference? Still figuring it out. 3. Would be much cooler if sound active had more fade ins and outs and dimming etc, but that's going to come when I eventually upgrade to compucontroller lighting....Pros: compared to say a 4 bar, I would say brighter not quite as much as coverage area but way brighter. Question: Are the motor design specs assumed that the fixture will be directly upright or directlyh upside down for the life of the fixture? What if you want to hang it oblong or sideways does that exert forces on those motors not designed for the application?

Members StratGuy22
I would say use 4 if you can. Symmetry is a good thing. Programming DMX isn't too hard.

Members StratGuy22
Here's a quick one on the ground. I'm expecting another to arrive in the next couple of days. Biggest weekend gig for me tho, so I won't be able to get them up on a truss for about a week. I could set the pair on the ground and play around a bit Here's a quick video. Members mate_stubb
Those are 10 watts, but narrow beam. I will be interested to see how they cut thru all your other lights.
Members StratGuy22
Here was my original setup. 4 intimidator 1.0's6 Pinspot 360's It looked pretty good! The pinspots were 3W, but they looked pretty good together. When I added some 3NX's and changed to minimacs the 360's ended up kinda washed out. I was looking for something to replace the pinspots. I liked the Blizzard Blades, but they were a little pricey, and while the beam was super tight, it was still pretty big. When I heard about the Spot Duos, they seemed like a perfect fit. Decent price, dual heads. Tight and smaller bean as well. I ran into a DJ who had a pair and wasn't real crazy about the built in programs. So I was able to buy them for a great price. I ultimately want 4 fixtures for a total of 8 heads. Then I think my light rig is pretty much done. They will be an accent lights, with full movement and color which will work well with my setup! I'm thinking the 10w will pinch through nicely vs the 3W pinspots.
Members mate_stubb
That will be some setup! If I may ask, what kind of music does your band play?

Members Mutha Goose
I am very curious to see how these will cut through your Fab5s and 3NX's. I have a pair of 6Spots that I would like to replace with something brighter. These may just do the trick.

Members StratGuy22
This is my other band. It's kind of a reunion band. The last time we had played was nov of last year. Before that, it was the year 2000 when we disbanded. So this was a second reunion gig. Private 80's theme party. There were about 120 people there. At the beginning the did some skits, Wheel of Fortune, Jazzercise, etc. then we did about 6 songs. They did some more skits, we did 6 songs. More skits, then we ended with 2 full sets. My GF videoed this. Since she had seen us a million times, she stuck around for a few songs, videoed them for me and then left. There were people there, I swear. They dressed as either rockers, dancercise, or Miami Vice style http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z398/robare99/4466C411-BBB4-41F3-8173-431C2FDE4B81-7371-0000056E31E38C90.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z398/robare99/F5D20656-D704-43D2-8C63-D24279B14A12-7371-0000056E39E71256.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z398/robare99/CB4AE632-4681-41E1-96B0-51455CCB57BE-7371-0000057357397958.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z398/robare99/74A6F981-1CD7-4503-9385-26F253C2BBD0-7371-000005735D482C67.jpg http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z398/robare99/6E3FCF45-F99C-4B94-AFB8-FD8CD1D0F6C6-7438-00000576F70FD014.jpg If like to rig a T-Bar on top of each FOH speaker, so u could run 2 fab5's per side. Members StratGuy22
Haha yeah! There was a group of 4 that dressed like KISS. they did an air guitar medley of KISS songs. It was a good time. The party was for the company our bass player works at. The one lady organizing likes to keep a pretty good handle on things. She was getting lots of calls about it. But she likes to know everyone there. When u get people who don't know anyone there's more chances for fights, gunplay etc lol
