Members mate_stubb
I don't care for the way DMXIS works now that I have used it for awhile. I want to program my favorite colors, movements, and sequences once, then assign them to lights in scenes in various combinations without having to enter them again and again. Is there something out there that works that way that I can try without breaking the bank? And will it work with my DMXIS hardware?
Members Voltage55
Use Compu Show. That is what I use and I love it. The Compu Cue Basic dongle isn't that expensive.
Members Mutha Goose
D-Pro works more like what you are describing, and that can work with your DMXis dongle.
Members mate_stubb
If I was to select a product based solely on the user manual, D-Pro would be it. The Compu Show manual and web pages do a bad job of telling me what is going on. Other thoughts?
Members Voltage55
What info are you looking for that youre not getting? Members mate_stubb
Since I spent some $ on dmxis already, I don't want to drop another $500 or so trying another piece of software that I am not sure I will like.I may buy another inexpensive dongle and give Freestyler a try. Members StratGuy22
I think you can do that with null channels.
Members StratGuy22
Why does it need a sound card?

After installing the latest version on their website, it pops up a dialog saying to specify a sound card. I assume the newer versions can sync to audio playback maybe. Members Mutha Goose
The fan macro interpolated between values. I haven't found any use for it. Personally I don't like the results with it. Now that you have the macros, you can play with using the chase function to place events in the oscillator. With this you can make almost any pattern you want.
Members mate_stubb
I entered my favorite 20 or so RGB colors in my own section of the color macros, which was pretty easy. I'd like to figure out if it is possible to write another macro that takes RGBAW so that I can save those in color macros too.
Members StratGuy22
Fan macros are handy for setting a scene with movers. Set your outside heads, and it evenly spaces the rest. Handy sometimes, depending on what you are looking to do.

Ah, great tip, thanks.I get the programming gestalt of DMXIS now, where you combine a bunch of masked presets to create a full preset.
