Members abzurd
So I've been considering an upgrade to my wash lights and have been looking at chip on board (COB) LEDs, which are relatively new. One in particular that's caught my eye is the yet to ship American DJ DOTZ TPar. 4, 30W LEDs with 90 degree beam angle with included 25 degree add on filters. So with a pair I'm thinking of using 2 of the lights for solo spots with the 25 degree lenses and the other 6 for general wash. 2 additional outlets and a snazzy way to attach extra lights above the pars.It seems pretty slick overall and with the wide beam angle will cover our typical performance space, which is generally no larger than 12'x16' and lit generally at close range. MAP is $399, but can be had for less when actually available. As of today ADJ says 30 days out, which we all know usually means 90.Anyway, are there any cons with COB? I think they are 3in1 so no real amber or white, but I can live with that. The single point source is a good thing.
Members BillESC
It ought to do what you want. Last time I checked (a few weeks ago) there was no ETA for the Dotz TPar.
