Members ultra_blue
im looking at cheap, affordable pa's to use for band practice. i've seen ones that go a low as two hundred, such a package from kustom, or this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=030720013758068007191191646202/g=live/search/detail/base_id/100465 are these worth considering for practice purposes? i only need about two mics for vocals and thats about it. will these do the trick or should i consider something bigger? Members Unalaska
I wouldn't bother, you won't be able to upgrade anu component in the system after you've discovered it isn't clean or loud enough. pete
Members flanc
For practice vocals only, most here like a powered speaker like the Berhinger b300 that takes a mic input. The speaker will act as a decent monitor if you need to drag it out on the road. The kustom stuff (and others of that genre) are worthless. Here is a link to the Behringer B300: They have one "b" stock unit for $269 and shipping is very cheap here!! http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHB300 Frank
CMS Author Craig Vecchione Posted July 21, 2003 CMS Author Share Posted July 21, 2003 Samson and I think EV have the powered speakers with 2 or 3 channel "mixers" builts in. Musicians Friend has a small PA package from Yamaha that has to be better than the Kustom. It's an EMX62M powered mixer and two AS108 speakers. $499. Six channels, 200w @4ohms, reverb, 7-band EQ.
