Members charmtone
Yes, we know very little about live sound production. We have a small power mixer w/monitor and main amps, 2 wedge monitors and 2 mains. Something elementary, easy to understand(and lots of pictures, too!) Any recommendations? Thanks in advanceGC
Members Nighthawkdude
Try "The Basics of Live Sound" by Jerry J. Slone. Pretty basic, as the title implies, but should give you a good foundation. Another good one is "Basic Live Sound" by Paul White. Both are under $10 on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Enjoy! Members twincop
I'll second the White book. It's pocket sized so you can toss it in a gear bag. Very basic, but understandable.
Members Black Frog
"The Sound Reinforcement Handbook" by Gary Davis & Ralph Jones. Excellent book with TONS of information. I think Yamaha initially put out this book, but now is available in a 2nd edition just about anywhere.
Members RickJ
Can I plug my own series of booklets (sig, below)? They were written specifically for the beginner sound tech and gigging musician. Sales have been pretty good off the web site, even though I don't have online ordering. They're not in full distribution yet, so I've been printing one-offs until I get my ISBN numbers. ... And now back to our regularly scheduled programming ...
