Members Serj
Do the laws of acoustics have to be used to avoid standing waves in certain speaker designs, such as 4th-Order enclosures, or non-exposed driver designs (help me out with correct terminology too.) Members agedhorse
Standing waves in general should be avoided, but depending on the frequency involved, the cabinet may not contribute much even with parallel sides. Interior acoustical treatment of the surfaces can help minimize reflectied midrange from being redirected out through the paper of the cones for example. In a bandwith limited sub, the wavelength is so long thatthe cabinet has no effect on standing waves (in general).
