Members SixStringSuperf
Hello Are there any lower end AKG dynamic mics that are worth checking out? I guess i was looking at the D8000S Ya see, I've noticed that Shure 57s and 58s pretty much dominate the cheap microphone industry, but I'm a man of variety. So are there any other $100 or less mics that are good for vocals and/or acoustic guitar? Thanks (pardon the irony of a man who likes variety asking a rather generic, redundant question) -Dan
Members SteelyD2
AKG D880 I've had one for about a year (it's my personal mic) and like it very much. Super-cardioid, high-output. When I first got it I A-B'd it with my SM58 and could not believe how dull the Shure sounded in comparison. Why specifically AKG? There are plenty of +/-$100 alternatives by other manufacturers that might be more readily available. I've used both the Sennheiser e835 and the Peavey PVM22 and liked them both. Members grimaila
I have a pair of C1000's that I really like. We use them primarily for lead vocals. Mike
