Members where02190
For vocals, slow attack fast release, output gain near the inverse of your max gain reduction, threshold to taste. Inotherwords, if you're hitting -5db of compression on average, put the output at +5. IMHO that's a pretty {censored}ty sounding compressor, FWIW. Members The Real MC
I use a nancomp between my DVD player and home stereo. It does a good job of taming those way-too-damn-dynamic movies where the spoken dialogue is 80dB quieter than the traffic noises and explosions. I also put one on my parent's TV and now the commercials do not blast them - they love it. It ain't good enough for critical audio, but works fine for DVDs and TV. Members guitarharv52
That sounds like a great idea to compress DVD audio.
