Follow up to mic'ing an URB (X-post)

I asked last week about mic'ing an acoustic upright bass. Couldn't afford to buy some stick-on or clip-on pick-ups, so I borrowed an Audio-Technica AT 35AX Clip-on Condensor microcphone to mic the acoustic upright bass from a drummer I know. The bridge was too thick to clip to, so I clipped it to the F-hole and bent the stalk so the condensor was pointing into the F-hole right at the surface. Unbelievable bass sound -- it was just great. Even the bass player commented on how good it sounded. I didn't have to mess with EQ at all -- it sounded perfect flat. BTW, this was for Joshua Nelson, the "Kosher" gospel singer and his group. He gave an excellent performance, and has some of the greatest pipes I've heard in a long time. I'm not even Jewish and I enjoyed the show.
